About Think Academy

Think Academy is a new approach to learning for IBMers: mobile, modern, and social. It will enable you to explain important topics to clients, colleagues, and friends and equip you with the fundamentals to be successful. It will also become a living repository of our expertise and what we learn together.

Terms of Use

The w3 Terms of Use apply to the Think Academy mobile application (the "App"). The App is IBM Content and your submissions through this App are User Content, as such terms are defined in the w3 Terms of Use. The App can only be installed by IBM employees on employee devices. Your use of this app will appear on w3 Connections. The application cannot be shared with customers, partners, family members or anyone else who is not employed by IBM.

Privacy Statement

This Application Privacy Statement sets forth the privacy practices of IBM relating to the Think Academy application (the "App"). You should read this statement before downloading, accessing or otherwise using the App. If you do not consent to the terms of this Statement, you should not download access or otherwise use the App. Downloading, accessing or otherwise using the App indicates that you consent to the terms of this Statement.

This App is available for download by individuals with an IBM intranet ID and password. Each time you restart the App, you will be required to provide us with your IBM intranet ID and password. Such information will be used to authenticate your access to the App. Your registration information will be handled, used, shared and retained by IBM solely for IBM business purposes in accordance with IBM’s internal policies. If you would like access to your personal information (to correct, modify, etc.), contact us at thnkfrdy@us.ibm.com and IBM will respond to your request.

In addition, the App may collect certain information, including personal information, automatically, such as the type of mobile device you use, your mobile operating system, and information about the way you use the App. IBM uses this information to generate anonymized reports about usage of the App, which will help IBM improve the App, and non-anonymized reports of App users, in order to provide them with update communications. IBM will not share this information with third parties. IBM will retain and safeguard this information by adhering to all relevant IBM internal policies.

This App does not (i) collect information about the location of your mobile device or(ii) collect personal contacts from your device, Web browsing history, photos, financial or health information.

If you uninstall the App from your device all data collection by the App will cease; information previously collected however will be retained in accordance with IBM internal policies. In addition, information you contributed and actions you take on your device through the App (Questions, Answers, Likes, Comments, Quizzes, Downloads, Content Viewing) will be deleted from your device, but will be retained in w3 Connections so that it can be viewed on your other devices. You may opt to not use the App and can instead anonymously read Think Academy content on w3 Connections or the Think Academy website: w3.ibm.com/ibm/thinkacademy/

This Application Privacy Statement may be updated from time to time for any reason. We will notify you of any changes to this Statement by posting a new statement in the Think Academy community and updating this About page within the App, in particular a notice in the release notes. By using this App, you consent to the processing of the information collected by this App as set forth in this Statement and IBM’s internal policies now or as amended hereinafter.
